The Shield Ranch Foundation and Wild Ride Committee proudly present The Wild Ride: a rare Cross-Country (XC), double track ride allowing you to experience the protected and secluded landscapes of Shield Ranch Barton Creek through a conservation lens via an exclusive mountain biking experience at The Campsite at Shield Ranch.

Just 20 miles west of downtown Austin, this unrivaled event combines adventure, conservation, and community while supporting the mission of the Shield Ranch Foundation. Bring your mountain bike and your curiosity!

Riders will enjoy exclusive access to scenic ranch roads that are typically closed to the public. Choose between approximately 8-mile and 16-mile routes, featuring rolling terrain and exhilarating descents. Route selections can be made on the morning of the ride. All participants are required to wear helmets and appropriate safety gear.

WHEN: Sat., Sept. 26th, 2026; 8:30 AM Start // Wheels down 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM

TICKET COST:

Rider Ticket – $150 (Includes a $100 tax-deductible donation to the Shield Ranch Foundation)

Non-Rider Ticket – $50

  • Includes lunch and refreshments post ride
  • Access to the sustainable Campsite facilities and walking trails

REGISTRATION SCHEDULE:

Pre-registration begins Thurs., July 9th. Registration opens to the public on Thur., July 23rd.

Shield Ranch is a 6,600-acre protected wildland and historic district comprising 10% of the Barton Creek watershed. The Ranch is sustainably managed for the benefit of people and nature. It is the first Urban Night Sky Place in Texas designated by DarkSky International and a recipient of the Quiet Conservation Area Award from Quiet Parks International.
