
What: Join us for Wild for Good Day, a joyful spring gathering celebrating Central Texas wildflowers and our generous Wild for Good Circle supporters! Learn about Shield Ranch’s meadow restoration story and its ecological significance. Hike along Rocky Creek, listen to live music, and enjoy a fresh, seasonal lunch prepared by Chef Addie. This special day is open to the community and free for our Wild for Good Circle supporters.
When: Saturday, March 28; 11 am – 3 pm
Where: Campsite at Shield Ranch; 10417 Crumley Ranch Rd., Austin, TX 78738
Cost: $22 adults, $10 youth; free for Wild for Good Circle supporters (limit 4). Lunch and activities are included.
Activity highlights include:
- Live music by Porch Swing Orchestra
- Photo portraits in the meadow with a professional photographer
- Naturalist identification walks led by Capital Area Master Naturalists
- Wildflower postcards with Paloma Mayorga of Milpa Press. Mayorga is an Austin-based interdisciplinary botanical artist exploring ancestral uses of plants and ecological stories.
- Nature discovery activities, games, and storytime for children of all ages led by Camp El Ranchito staff

Wild for Good: Wild for Good Day is hosted by the Shield Ranch Foundation. By attending a program or reserving the Campsite, you help support El Ranchito and retreat scholarships, conservation efforts, and provide access for small nonprofits to use the Campsite.
