The Shield Land Stewardship Group is thrilled to extend congratulations and gratitude to Seth Kaplan for successfully completing his Natural Resource Management Private Ranch Internship.
During his 10-week term, Seth made significant contributions to a variety of infrastructure and natural resource projects across all three Shield Ranch wildlands. He described the experience as being “miles above his previous positions,” highlighting the growth and learning he achieved during his time with us.
Seth graduated from Texas Tech University in spring 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management with a concentration in ranch management. During his studies, he was actively involved with the Wildlife Society and served as the treasurer for the Society for Range Management. In the Society for Range Management, he honed his skills in plant identification and competed as part of the plant ID team his senior year. His dream is to own and manage a regenerative ranch focused on soil health and producing high-quality meats and produce.
Seth chose to work with Shield Ranch to gain hands-on experience in land and wildlife management. In his free time, he enjoys climbing, hiking, running, grilling steaks, and camping at every opportunity.
We wish Seth the best in his future endeavors and look forward to seeing the impact he will make in the field of natural resource management.
