
Job Title: Conservation Corps Crew Leader
Supervisor: Conservation Corps Director
Classification: Seasonal Employment
Employment Dates: June 1 – July 18: Residential, overnight camp at the Campsite at Shield Ranch. This position will require living on-site during residential camp dates.
Residential salary: $4000 from June 1 – July 18, with housing, meals, and board provided during the camp sessions
Location: Campsite at Shield Ranch, 10417 Crumley Ranch Road, Austin, TX 78738
Role Description: Conservation Corps is an overnight camp for 9th-12th graders focusing on nature immersion, community building, leadership development, and job training. Campers are called Corps members and learn valuable job skills while earning a stipend for their work. The Crew Leads will guide Corps Members through a conservation project such as building a trail or wildland restoration. Leaders will run different activities for the Corps members and assist when presenters are brought in. Crew Leaders will encourage a positive community among Corps members and help guide members through conflict resolution if issues arise.
